The main problem with this article, and in fact the basis of the quota system, is that it is extremely difficult to uniformly acknowledge "difficulty" interdepartmentally. The Princeton proposal proposes grade quotas intradepartmentally, and therefore hopes to eliminate interdepartmental comparisons.
